Cylindrical Fender

Cylindrical  Fenders  are commonly used fenders recommendedfor all type of applications to ensure a safeand linear berthing to a variety of vessels. Adequate installation is simply achieved by using chains, bars, ropes or peciallydesigned ladder brackets.

Eva Rubber Solid Floating Fender

Foam Filled  Fenders  are versatile, robust and suitable for almost all applications. It uses high elastic foaming EVA as buffer medium,spira reinforcemrnt in the middle and Polyurea coating at outside. The EVA foam we use in the constraction of our Foam Filled Fenders is the closed cell type. It is made from Ethylene Vinyl Acetate and blended copolymers. It has a high level of chemical cross linking. These foams are flexible and esilientmaking them ideal for fendering products. Importantly, thefoams are also chemically inert and nonabsorbent making them suitable for use in marine nvironments. Features of Glen EVA Foam Filled Fenders: 1.Core material is closed and lyophobic. It is not bibulous even if damaged. 2.Polyurea protection layer can resist strong impact force and friction. 3.Can be customized in various colors.

Fender Regular Inspection

Fender systems used for large vessel berthing are usually assembled with frontal panels to reduce the hull pressure, they are more complicated in structure than the traditional fenders for general purpose. The fender system will lose its protective function in case the structure was damaged. Therefore regular inspection is compulsory to be carried out for long-term operation safety. After the fender system is installed and put into service, inspection shall be carried out each time after berthing of the first three ships and then monthly inspections are to be conducted.  Inspection scope: 1 . Check the foot bolts for fender buffer installation and the bolts for fastening frontal panel. Fasten them enough in case of any loose and then fix the fastening bolt and washer by spot welding.   2. Chain Design

There are 3 types of chains in the fender system: tension chain, weight chain, and shear chain. The tension chain is to protect the fender from the damage while under local compression. The weight chain is to support the weight of front panel and the face panel. The shear chain is to protect the fender from damage while in shear deflection. The following items should be noted in chain design: The chain dimension should be as exact as possible, not too loose or too tight The chain can not be twisted as this reduces the load capacity Open link is preferred The initial angel of the chains is important. Fender Front Panel Design

How to design the front panel? The main function of front panel is to distribute the reaction forces from  fenders  units into the ship’s hull, so the design should be suit each individual berth. The loads and stress loads exert to front panel will depend on many factors- the type of ship, berthing mode, characteristic of the rubber fender and tidal range etc. The design of front panel should meet the following requirements: Resistance to bending moments and shear forces Resistance to impact on part There is no deflection on front panel and face pad during the compression Suitable corrosion protection for intended environment What’s the structure type of front panel?
